OpenFront Gameplay Overview
OpenFront is a real-time, massively multiplayer online strategy game inspired by territorial.io. You join a single shared map with hundreds of other players. Everyone starts small and fights at the same time. The main goal is to expand your land, dominate the map, and become the strongest empire before others take you down.
You begin with a small area of land. From there, you grow by clicking or tapping on empty territory or by attacking nearby players. Every successful expansion paints the map with your color. Growth is constant, so waiting too long often means getting surrounded by faster players.
Research and Upgrades
- Players can spend resources on a research tree.
- Improve troop strength and efficiency
- Increase gold or population growth
- Boost defense to survive attacks
Choosing the right upgrades at the right time can completely change the outcome of a match.
Controls
- Space: Switch between terrain and country view
- Shift + Mouse Click: Attack
- Ctrl + Mouse Click: Open build menu
- Alt + Mouse Click: Open emote menu
- C: Center camera on your territory
- WASD: Move camera
- Q / E: Zoom out and zoom in
- 1 / 2: Decrease or increase attack ratio
- Shift + Mouse Scroll: Adjust attack ratio
- Alt + R: Reset graphics
